Tafsir of verse (71) from Surah Al-Hijr
﴿ قالَ هٰؤُلاءِ بَناتى إِن كُنتُم فٰعِلينَ ﴾
[Lot] said, "These are my daughters – if you would be doers [of lawful marriage]."
Tafsir of verse (72) from Surah Al-Hijr
﴿ لَعَمرُكَ إِنَّهُم لَفى سَكرَتِهِم يَعمَهونَ ﴾
By your life, [O Muhammad], indeed they were, in their intoxication, wandering blindly.
Tafsir of verse (73) from Surah Al-Hijr
﴿ فَأَخَذَتهُمُ الصَّيحَةُ مُشرِقينَ ﴾
So the shriek seized them at sunrise.
Tafsir of verse (74) from Surah Al-Hijr
﴿ فَجَعَلنا عٰلِيَها سافِلَها وَأَمطَرنا عَلَيهِم حِجارَةً مِن سِجّيلٍ ﴾
And We made the highest part [of the city] its lowest and rained upon them stones of hard clay.
Tafsir of verse (75) from Surah Al-Hijr
﴿ إِنَّ فى ذٰلِكَ لَءايٰتٍ لِلمُتَوَسِّمينَ ﴾
Indeed in that are signs for those who discern.
Tafsir of verse (76) from Surah Al-Hijr
﴿ وَإِنَّها لَبِسَبيلٍ مُقيمٍ ﴾
And indeed, they [i.e., those cities] are [situated] on an established road.
Tafsir of verse (77) from Surah Al-Hijr
﴿ إِنَّ فى ذٰلِكَ لَءايَةً لِلمُؤمِنينَ ﴾
Indeed in that is a sign for the believers.
Tafsir of verse (78) from Surah Al-Hijr
﴿ وَإِن كانَ أَصحٰبُ الأَيكَةِ لَظٰلِمينَ ﴾
And the companions of the thicket [i.e., the people of Madyan] were [also] wrongdoers.
Tafsir of verse (79) from Surah Al-Hijr
﴿ فَانتَقَمنا مِنهُم وَإِنَّهُما لَبِإِمامٍ مُبينٍ ﴾
So We took retribution from them, and indeed, both [cities] are on a clear highway.
Tafsir of verse (80) from Surah Al-Hijr
﴿ وَلَقَد كَذَّبَ أَصحٰبُ الحِجرِ المُرسَلينَ ﴾
And certainly did the companions of al-Hijr [i.e., the Thamud] deny the messengers.
Tafsir of verse (81) from Surah Al-Hijr
﴿ وَءاتَينٰهُم ءايٰتِنا فَكانوا عَنها مُعرِضينَ ﴾
And We gave them Our signs, but from them they were turning away.
Tafsir of verse (82) from Surah Al-Hijr
﴿ وَكانوا يَنحِتونَ مِنَ الجِبالِ بُيوتًا ءامِنينَ ﴾
And they used to carve from the mountains, houses, feeling secure.
Tafsir of verse (83) from Surah Al-Hijr
﴿ فَأَخَذَتهُمُ الصَّيحَةُ مُصبِحينَ ﴾
But the shriek seized them at early morning.
Tafsir of verse (84) from Surah Al-Hijr
﴿ فَما أَغنىٰ عَنهُم ما كانوا يَكسِبونَ ﴾
So nothing availed them [from] what they used to earn.
Tafsir of verse (85) from Surah Al-Hijr
﴿ وَما خَلَقنَا السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالأَرضَ وَما بَينَهُما إِلّا بِالحَقِّ ۗ وَإِنَّ السّاعَةَ لَءاتِيَةٌ ۖ فَاصفَحِ الصَّفحَ الجَميلَ ﴾
And We have not created the heavens and earth and that between them except in truth. And indeed, the Hour is coming; so forgive with gracious forgiveness.
Tafsir of verse (86) from Surah Al-Hijr
﴿ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ الخَلّٰقُ العَليمُ ﴾
Indeed, your Lord – He is the Knowing Creator.
Tafsir of verse (87) from Surah Al-Hijr
﴿ وَلَقَد ءاتَينٰكَ سَبعًا مِنَ المَثانى وَالقُرءانَ العَظيمَ ﴾
And We have certainly given you, [O Muhammad], seven of the often repeated [verses] and the great Quran.
Tafsir of verse (88) from Surah Al-Hijr
﴿ لا تَمُدَّنَّ عَينَيكَ إِلىٰ ما مَتَّعنا بِهِ أَزوٰجًا مِنهُم وَلا تَحزَن عَلَيهِم وَاخفِض جَناحَكَ لِلمُؤمِنينَ ﴾
Do not extend your eyes toward that by which We have given enjoyment to [certain] categories of them [i.e., the disbelievers], and do not grieve over them. And lower your wing [i.e., show kindness] to the believers.
Tafsir of verse (89) from Surah Al-Hijr
﴿ وَقُل إِنّى أَنَا النَّذيرُ المُبينُ ﴾
And say, "Indeed, I am the clear warner"
Tafsir of verse (90) from Surah Al-Hijr
﴿ كَما أَنزَلنا عَلَى المُقتَسِمينَ ﴾
Just as We had revealed [scriptures] to the separators.
