Tafsir of verse (137) from Surah Ash-Shuara
﴿ إِن هٰذا إِلّا خُلُقُ الأَوَّلينَ ﴾
This is not but the custom of the former peoples.
Tafsir of verse (138) from Surah Ash-Shuara
﴿ وَما نَحنُ بِمُعَذَّبينَ ﴾
And we are not to be punished."
Tafsir of verse (139) from Surah Ash-Shuara
﴿ فَكَذَّبوهُ فَأَهلَكنٰهُم ۗ إِنَّ فى ذٰلِكَ لَءايَةً ۖ وَما كانَ أَكثَرُهُم مُؤمِنينَ ﴾
And they denied him, so We destroyed them. Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.
Tafsir of verse (140) from Surah Ash-Shuara
﴿ وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ العَزيزُ الرَّحيمُ ﴾
And indeed, your Lord – He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.
Tafsir of verse (141) from Surah Ash-Shuara
﴿ كَذَّبَت ثَمودُ المُرسَلينَ ﴾
Thamud denied the messengers.
Tafsir of verse (142) from Surah Ash-Shuara
﴿ إِذ قالَ لَهُم أَخوهُم صٰلِحٌ أَلا تَتَّقونَ ﴾
When their brother Salih said to them, "Will you not fear Allah?
Tafsir of verse (143) from Surah Ash-Shuara
﴿ إِنّى لَكُم رَسولٌ أَمينٌ ﴾
Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger.
Tafsir of verse (144) from Surah Ash-Shuara
﴿ فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطيعونِ ﴾
So fear Allah and obey me.
Tafsir of verse (145) from Surah Ash-Shuara
﴿ وَما أَسـَٔلُكُم عَلَيهِ مِن أَجرٍ ۖ إِن أَجرِىَ إِلّا عَلىٰ رَبِّ العٰلَمينَ ﴾
And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds.
Tafsir of verse (146) from Surah Ash-Shuara
﴿ أَتُترَكونَ فى ما هٰهُنا ءامِنينَ ﴾
Will you be left in what is here, secure [from death].
Tafsir of verse (147) from Surah Ash-Shuara
﴿ فى جَنّٰتٍ وَعُيونٍ ﴾
Within gardens and springs.
Tafsir of verse (148) from Surah Ash-Shuara
﴿ وَزُروعٍ وَنَخلٍ طَلعُها هَضيمٌ ﴾
And fields of crops and palm trees with softened fruit?
Tafsir of verse (149) from Surah Ash-Shuara
﴿ وَتَنحِتونَ مِنَ الجِبالِ بُيوتًا فٰرِهينَ ﴾
And you carve out of the mountains, homes, with skill.
Tafsir of verse (150) from Surah Ash-Shuara
﴿ فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطيعونِ ﴾
So fear Allah and obey me.
Tafsir of verse (151) from Surah Ash-Shuara
﴿ وَلا تُطيعوا أَمرَ المُسرِفينَ ﴾
And do not obey the order of the transgressors.
Tafsir of verse (152) from Surah Ash-Shuara
﴿ الَّذينَ يُفسِدونَ فِى الأَرضِ وَلا يُصلِحونَ ﴾
Who cause corruption in the land and do not amend."
Tafsir of verse (153) from Surah Ash-Shuara
﴿ قالوا إِنَّما أَنتَ مِنَ المُسَحَّرينَ ﴾
They said, "You are only of those affected by magic.
Tafsir of verse (154) from Surah Ash-Shuara
﴿ ما أَنتَ إِلّا بَشَرٌ مِثلُنا فَأتِ بِـٔايَةٍ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ الصّٰدِقينَ ﴾
You are but a man like ourselves, so bring a sign, if you should be of the truthful."
Tafsir of verse (155) from Surah Ash-Shuara
﴿ قالَ هٰذِهِ ناقَةٌ لَها شِربٌ وَلَكُم شِربُ يَومٍ مَعلومٍ ﴾
He said, "This is a she-camel. For her is a [time of] drink, and for you is a [time of] drink, [each] on a known day.
Tafsir of verse (156) from Surah Ash-Shuara
﴿ وَلا تَمَسّوها بِسوءٍ فَيَأخُذَكُم عَذابُ يَومٍ عَظيمٍ ﴾
And do not touch her with harm, lest you be seized by the punishment of a terrible day."
Tafsir of verse (157) from Surah Ash-Shuara
﴿ فَعَقَروها فَأَصبَحوا نٰدِمينَ ﴾
But they hamstrung her and so became regretful.
Tafsir of verse (158) from Surah Ash-Shuara
﴿ فَأَخَذَهُمُ العَذابُ ۗ إِنَّ فى ذٰلِكَ لَءايَةً ۖ وَما كانَ أَكثَرُهُم مُؤمِنينَ ﴾
And the punishment seized them. Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.
Tafsir of verse (159) from Surah Ash-Shuara
﴿ وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ العَزيزُ الرَّحيمُ ﴾
And indeed, your Lord – He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.
