Tafsir of verse (1) from Surah As-Saffat
﴿ وَالصّٰفّٰتِ صَفًّا ﴾
By those [angels] lined up in rows.
Tafsir of verse (2) from Surah As-Saffat
﴿ فَالزّٰجِرٰتِ زَجرًا ﴾
And those who drive [the clouds].
Tafsir of verse (3) from Surah As-Saffat
﴿ فَالتّٰلِيٰتِ ذِكرًا ﴾
And those who recite the message.
Tafsir of verse (4) from Surah As-Saffat
﴿ إِنَّ إِلٰهَكُم لَوٰحِدٌ ﴾
Indeed, your God is One.
Tafsir of verse (5) from Surah As-Saffat
﴿ رَبُّ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالأَرضِ وَما بَينَهُما وَرَبُّ المَشٰرِقِ ﴾
Lord of the heavens and the earth and that between them and Lord of the sunrises.
Tafsir of verse (6) from Surah As-Saffat
﴿ إِنّا زَيَّنَّا السَّماءَ الدُّنيا بِزينَةٍ الكَواكِبِ ﴾
Indeed, We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment of stars.
Tafsir of verse (7) from Surah As-Saffat
﴿ وَحِفظًا مِن كُلِّ شَيطٰنٍ مارِدٍ ﴾
And as protection against every rebellious devil.
Tafsir of verse (8) from Surah As-Saffat
﴿ لا يَسَّمَّعونَ إِلَى المَلَإِ الأَعلىٰ وَيُقذَفونَ مِن كُلِّ جانِبٍ ﴾
[So] they may not listen to the exalted assembly [of angels] and are pelted from every side.
Tafsir of verse (9) from Surah As-Saffat
﴿ دُحورًا ۖ وَلَهُم عَذابٌ واصِبٌ ﴾
Repelled; and for them is a constant punishment.
Tafsir of verse (10) from Surah As-Saffat
﴿ إِلّا مَن خَطِفَ الخَطفَةَ فَأَتبَعَهُ شِهابٌ ثاقِبٌ ﴾
Except one who snatches [some words] by theft, but they are pursued by a burning flame, piercing [in brightness].
Tafsir of verse (11) from Surah As-Saffat
﴿ فَاستَفتِهِم أَهُم أَشَدُّ خَلقًا أَم مَن خَلَقنا ۚ إِنّا خَلَقنٰهُم مِن طينٍ لازِبٍ ﴾
Then inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Are they a stronger [or more difficult] creation or those [others] We have created?" Indeed, We created them [i.e., men] from sticky clay.
Tafsir of verse (12) from Surah As-Saffat
﴿ بَل عَجِبتَ وَيَسخَرونَ ﴾
But you wonder, while they mock.
Tafsir of verse (13) from Surah As-Saffat
﴿ وَإِذا ذُكِّروا لا يَذكُرونَ ﴾
And when they are reminded, they remember not.
Tafsir of verse (14) from Surah As-Saffat
﴿ وَإِذا رَأَوا ءايَةً يَستَسخِرونَ ﴾
And when they see a sign, they ridicule.
Tafsir of verse (15) from Surah As-Saffat
﴿ وَقالوا إِن هٰذا إِلّا سِحرٌ مُبينٌ ﴾
And say, "This is not but obvious magic.
Tafsir of verse (16) from Surah As-Saffat
﴿ أَءِذا مِتنا وَكُنّا تُرابًا وَعِظٰمًا أَءِنّا لَمَبعوثونَ ﴾
When we have died and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected?
Tafsir of verse (17) from Surah As-Saffat
﴿ أَوَءاباؤُنَا الأَوَّلونَ ﴾
And our forefathers [as well]?"
Tafsir of verse (18) from Surah As-Saffat
﴿ قُل نَعَم وَأَنتُم دٰخِرونَ ﴾
Say, "Yes, and you will be [rendered] contemptible."
Tafsir of verse (19) from Surah As-Saffat
﴿ فَإِنَّما هِىَ زَجرَةٌ وٰحِدَةٌ فَإِذا هُم يَنظُرونَ ﴾
It will be only one shout, and at once they will be observing.
Tafsir of verse (20) from Surah As-Saffat
﴿ وَقالوا يٰوَيلَنا هٰذا يَومُ الدّينِ ﴾
They will say, "O woe to us! This is the Day of Recompense."
Tafsir of verse (21) from Surah As-Saffat
﴿ هٰذا يَومُ الفَصلِ الَّذى كُنتُم بِهِ تُكَذِّبونَ ﴾
[They will be told], "This is the Day of Judgement which you used to deny."
Tafsir of verse (22) from Surah As-Saffat
﴿ ۞ احشُرُوا الَّذينَ ظَلَموا وَأَزوٰجَهُم وَما كانوا يَعبُدونَ ﴾
[The angels will be ordered], "Gather those who committed wrong, their kinds, and what they used to worship.
Tafsir of verse (23) from Surah As-Saffat
﴿ مِن دونِ اللَّهِ فَاهدوهُم إِلىٰ صِرٰطِ الجَحيمِ ﴾
Other than Allah, and guide them to the path of Hellfire.
Tafsir of verse (24) from Surah As-Saffat
﴿ وَقِفوهُم ۖ إِنَّهُم مَسـٔولونَ ﴾
And stop them; indeed, they are to be questioned."
